Young St Andrews Citizen Of The Year

Today I went to the St Andrews Borough Council Chambers to collect my award for winning the Young Citizen of the year.

I have worked hard and carefully for the past 7 months recycling and trying to get more people to recycle with me. Most of these people are local residents who either don't have transport or who lead very busy lives.Dsc_0016

I was very honored to receive this award and the best thing is that I not only received a trophy and a certificate but I was also awarded a cheque for £50!! I wonder if I can win it again next year.

There were other young people there too but they were a bit older than me and they had all done a lot of volunteering work, they received commendations.

I am trying to think of new ideas for my eco-business as I want to expand but at the same time, try and help save the planet. Dsc_0021

School Eco-Committee

As from January 2008,I am a school representative for the eco-committee.

That means that I have to suggest ways in which our school can become more environmentally friendly, think of new ideas to recycle and generally help the school to get a Green Flag.

Read more about the Green Flag for schools and what it means. Click here.

Green Bags

Go  Green bags are very good if you you want to help the enviroment. They come in handy whenever you need them. You can get different colours, styles and sizes.

FACT: You have to pay for your shopping bags when you go to the supermarket so buy a green bag that lasts and help the enviroment.

Recycling

My Sunday Business

Every Sunday of every week I take my time to get some money for my school trip.I travel round St.Andrews to my 15 customers to collect their re-cycling to my local re-cycling center.

I charge my environmental customers £1 per bag i can also give them a green bag for a £1. My day starts when I set off through the home of golf, cycling to people's houses. I am very lucky to have all my customers, but one stands out because I have lunch at their house!

When I arrive home I count up all my money I normally have alot, I add it to my bank and watch it grow.
